IT Security Manager

Role: IT Security ManagerSalary: Up to c.£55,000 per annum (DOE)Location: Hybrid - Hampshire (2-3 days per week on-site)We're recruiting for an experienced IT Security Manager to lead and evolve the cyber security function within a government organisation. This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll define strategy, manage risk, and ensure the organisation maintains a strong and resilient security posture.Working in a hybrid model, you'll spend 2-3 days per week across office and site locations in Hampshire, with the remainder remote.This is a full-time, permanent opportunity , offering a salary of up to circa £55,000 depending on experience.Key Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a cyber security management or leadership roleStrong knowledge of recognised frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials)Experience overseeing governance, risk, and assurance activitiesBroad technical understanding across networks, cloud, infrastructureHands-on experience leading or coordinating cyber incident responseAbility to translate technical risk into clear, business-focused messagingExperience producing reports, dashboards, and presenting to senior stakeholdersStrong people leadership skills with experience mentoring or managing teamsExperience managing third-party suppliers and security toolingKey ResponsibilitiesDefine and deliver a cyber security strategy aligned to organisational goalsLead governance, risk management, and compliance initiativesOwn and maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS)Ensure alignment with standards such as ISO 27001 and Cyber EssentialsIdentify, assess, and mitigate cyber risks, maintaining the risk registerLead incident response capability, ensuring plans are tested and effectiveMonitor the threat landscape and advise on emerging risks and mitigationsManage and develop a small cyber security teamOversee the performance of security controls, tools, and processesProduce regular insight reports for senior leadership on security postureManage supplier relationships and support security-related procurementChampion a strong security culture through awareness and training initiativesBenefitsGenerous annual leave plus additional bank holidaysHighly competitive pension schemeFlexible working with sensible start and finish timesAdditional benefits package availableIf this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we'd love to hear from you.
