Join our Operational Team and help keep our vehicles safe, compliant, and ready to deliver the brilliant service AO is known for. You’ll be hands-on every day—securing loads, supporting maintenance, completing checks, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

\n

You’ll work closely with our engineers, self-employed crews, and contractors to keep our fleet moving. If something needs fixing, organising, or sharing, you’ll be the go-to person who gets it sorted.

\n

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing As Our Depot Supervisor:

\n
    \n
  • Make sure every vehicle is loaded safely, secure, and fully compliant with transport rules — AO-standard from the start.
  • \n
  • Keep an eye on deliveries through the day and step in fast when something needs sorting.
  • \n
  • Support new starters by showing them the ropes — Safe Systems of Work, Health & Safety, and how we do things at AO.
  • \n
  • Share daily/weekly priorities so the whole team’s on the same page — great handovers and clear comms are a must.
  • \n
  • Work side-by-side with the team, helping split tasks and keeping everyone moving.
  • \n
  • Carry out alcohol testing when required to keep our operation safe and compliant.
  • \n
  • Handle small vehicle repairs and get servicing booked in on time.
  • \n
  • Chat with Drivers, answering questions and resolving issues with a friendly, helpful approach.
  • \n
  • Tranship and reload vehicles to keep the operation flowing smoothly.
  • \n
  • Complete in-house reports accurately and on time to keep everything running behind the scenes.
  • \n

A Few Things About You:

  • Solid understanding of safe loading and transport compliance — making sure every vehicle is secure and meets the rules.
  • \n
  • Strong delivery-monitoring and quick problem-solving skills to handle issues as they pop up.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting and training new starters, especially around Safe Systems of Work and key Health & Safety basics.
  • \n
  • Clear, confident communication — sharing priorities, giving great handovers, and keeping operations flowing.
  • \n
  • A hands-on team player who can organise tasks, support colleagues, and get stuck in.
  • \n
  • Basic vehicle maintenance know-how, from minor repairs to arranging timely services.
  • \n
  • Great driver engagement and a customer-focused approach, handling questions professionally and building positive relationships.
  • \n
