\nAt Shaftesbury we are recruiting for a dedicated Deputy Manager to help shape a supportive, inclusive environment where children can truly thrive. We are looking for someone with experience working in a residential children’s home, or with children with disabilities, in a similar setting.

\nOur Children's Home is a purpose built children’s home which provides overnight short breaks for children with disabilities.
\nThe home provides a safe, nurturing, caring and fun home away from home for children and young people aged 0-17 years old.
\nOur caring staff team provide high quality support to children who have a range of disabilities including; learning, physical, and sensory disabilities, autism, developmental conditions, and health conditions. The children we care for need support with; personal care, mobility, medication, communication, getting out and about and managing behaviour.
\nThe home provides invaluable support to children, young people and their families. We are a warm, fun and friendly home and we aim to make a real, positive difference to the local community, the children and young people we support and their families.
\nThe home operates 5 nights per week, Wednesday to Sunday, all year round. Up to 5 children can stay per night.
\nUsual staffing levels are 6 day time staff, 1 sleep in staff and 2 waking night staff.
\nDuring the day there is usually an additional senior member of staff on duty.
\nThe Role
\nAs a Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high-quality care and support for both the people we support and your team.
\nKey responsibilities include:

- Working alongside the Registered Manager in leading and supporting a team of care professionals \n
- Overseeing daily operations of the service \n
- Promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing \n
- Ensuring care is personalised, flexible, and of the highest standard \n
What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent as defined by the DFE Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations, 2015 \n
- Or Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent and Level 5 Diploma to be achieved within 2 years of taking up the post \n
- Knowledge and understanding of OFSTED requirements \n
- Knowledge and understanding of the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015. \n
- Knowledge and understanding Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation and proceedures \n
- A positive, proactive leadership style \n
- Passion for delivering outstanding, child-centred care \n
- Commitment to our values and making a difference \n
Additional requirements:

- Participation in on-call rota \n
- Weekend working required \n
