Practice Manager / Senior Accountant

Lancaster | Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience

Looking for a role in practice where there’s a genuine route to Director or Partner level in the not too distant future?

We’re working with a well-established and respected accountancy practice in the Lancaster area that is looking to bring in an experienced practice professional who wants more than just a compliance role.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to take a bigger role in the future direction of a firm.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the partners across a broad client portfolio, taking ownership of work while also helping guide and develop more junior members of the team.

Typical responsibilities will include:

•Preparing and reviewing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

•Supporting clients with tax planning and general business advice

•Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact

•Reviewing work completed by junior staff and supporting their development

•Getting involved in improving systems, processes and client service

Over time there will be the opportunity to take on more responsibility in the running of the practice, with a clear path towards senior leadership.

What they’re looking for

•Practice background within an accountancy firm

•ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

•Comfortable managing client relationships

•Someone commercially minded who enjoys helping clients, not just producing accounts

•Ambition to progress towards Director or Partner level
