Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing business in Scunthorpe as they look to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their Building Products division.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys combining hands-on quality assurance with team leadership and continuous improvement. Working closely with Production, Maintenance and the Process & Site Compliance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring products consistently meet the highest quality standards while driving improvements across the manufacturing operation.
\nAs Quality Engineer, you'll take ownership of day-to-day quality activities across the manufacturing facility, supporting laboratory testing, leading quality investigations and helping to develop a proactive quality culture. You'll also provide guidance to Quality Technicians and act as a deputy to the Process & Site Compliance Manager when required.
\nThis is a varied role offering the opportunity to influence quality performance, support customer requirements and contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives.
Key duties & responsibilities: \n- \n
- Coordinate daily quality activities and support the Quality Technician team \n
- Carry out and oversee laboratory testing including tensile, FTIR, MFI, DSC, heat ageing, reversion, ring stiffness and raw material testing \n
- Conduct regular production line audits, identifying and resolving quality issues \n
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and root causes, implementing effective corrective actions \n
- Produce quality reports, analyse trends and communicate findings across the business \n
- Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all laboratory equipment remains compliant \n
- Support ISO 9001 compliance through robust documentation and adherence to quality procedures \n
- Work collaboratively with Production and Maintenance to improve product quality and reduce repeat issues \n
- Coordinate BSI Kitemark testing, including sample selection, documentation and submission \n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing \n
- Deliver training and coaching on quality standards, testing methods and best practice \n
- Ensure traceability, stock checks and raw material verification processes are maintained \n
- Represent the business during customer visits and technical discussions when required \n
- Provide cover for the Process & Site Compliance Manager in their absence \n
We're looking for an experienced manufacturing quality professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively across production environments.
\nYou'll ideally have:

- Previous experience within a Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor or similar manufacturing quality role \n
- Experience investigating quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques \n
- Good knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems \n
- Experience supervising, mentoring or coaching colleagues \n
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage across all levels of the business \n
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail \n
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and quality data management systems \n
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement \n
