Fabricator Welder
Job Description
A leading UK engineering and manufacturing business is seeking experienced Fabricator / Welders to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established manufacturer producing high-quality fabricated steel products within a modern, well-equipped facility.
\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding components to engineering drawings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings. \n
- Measure, mark out, cut and prepare materials to specification. \n
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using engineering drawings. \n
- Carry out MIG welding and fabrication to a high standard. \n
- Ensure all required materials and components are available before assembly. \n
- Grind, finish and prepare completed fabrications. \n
- Complete quality inspections and associated documentation. \n
- Work safely and comply with all Health & Safety procedures. \n
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping. \n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Fabricator / Welder within a manufacturing or engineering environment. \n
- Experience fabricating and welding mild steel. \n
- Experience working with mild steel, Zintec and galvanised sheet materials ranging from approximately 0.9mm to 30mm thickness. \n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. \n
- Good understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques. \n
- Experience using a wide range of fabrication equipment and hand tools. \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. \n
- Good mathematical and measurement skills. \n
- Ability to handle and manoeuvre large fabricated components. \n
- Overhead crane experience would be advantageous. \n
- Welding qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential. \n
The role is based on a 40-hour working week with the following shift options:
\nDays
\n- \n
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm \n
- Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm \n
Afternoons
\n- \n
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 12:30am \n
- Includes a 20% shift allowance. \n
Overtime (optional):
\n- \n
- Saturday: 6 hours \n
The business closes for all Bank Holidays and enjoys a full Christmas shutdown.
