Head of Finance

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting for a leading service business in Doncaster as they look to recruit a Head of Finance into the team. The purpose of the role is to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Finance function, ensuring the financial health, sustainability and growth of the business. The Head of Finance will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, providing commercial insight to the Executive Team, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting to support effective decision-making across the business.

The role will lead the Finance Team, support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, statutory compliance and financial risk management, whilst supporting the achievement of the Group's strategic objectives.The company offers excellent benefits including:-

Duties will include: -

\n
• Act as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business.
\n
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
\n
• Provide commercial and financial advice to the Board and Senior Management Team.
\n
• Support business growth initiatives through financial modelling and analysis.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and financial performance.
\n
• Ensure the timely production of accurate monthly management accounts and associated reporting packs.
\n
• Present financial performance information, forecasts and key business metrics to the Board and senior leadership team.
\n
• Support with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
\n
• Develop appropriate KPI reporting frameworks to support decision-making across all business functions.
\n
• Monitor business performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities.
\n
• Maintain effective financial controls, policies and procedures throughout the organisation.
\n
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
\n
• Oversee VAT, corporation tax and other regulatory submissions.
\n
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks and professional advisers.
\n
• Oversee cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
\n
• Ensure appropriate funding arrangements are in place to support operational and strategic objectives.
\n
• Identify, assess and manage financial risks to the organisation.
\n
• Develop and maintain robust risk management and business continuity arrangements relating to finance activities.
\n
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development planning activities.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
\n
• Support business-wide projects requiring financial expertise and analysis.
\n
• Build strong working relationships across all departments.
\n
• Provide financial guidance and support to budget holders and managers.
\n

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences: -

\n
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified (Qualified by Experience may also be considered)
\n
• Significant senior finance leadership experience
\n
• Experience of managing finance teams within a commercial environment
\n
• Strong financial planning, forecasting and reporting expertise
\n
• Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen
\n
• Experience of developing and implementing financial controls and governance frameworks
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
\n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience
\n
• Experience in a multi-company or group structure
\n
• Experience supporting organisational growth and change programmes
\n
• Knowledge of accounting packages and finance platforms
\n
• Experience presenting to Boards and senior leadership team
\n
