Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and effective management of resources to support the organisation's goals. This role is based in Cambridge and plays a key part in maintaining financial stability within the not-for-profit sector.

• Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports.

• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
\n
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
\n
• Supervise and support the finance team with their daily tasks.
\n
• Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks effectively.
\n
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and guidance.
\n
• Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
\n
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes.
\n

Profile

A successful Financial Controller should have:

• Professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
\n
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in financial management.
\n
• Proficiency in financial systems and software.
\n
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
\n
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
\n
• Clear and effective communication skills.
\n
• Understanding of the not for profit sector (SORP, UK GAAP, FRS 102)

Job Offer

• Salary from £62,213+ dependent on the level of experience.
\n
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
\n
• Death in service benefit (4 x salary).
