Trainee Litigation Solicitor

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Litigation Solicitor to join our growing legal team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified legal professional or trainee nearing qualification to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of contentious matters while working alongside experienced solicitors.
\nDay-to-day of the role:

- Assist solicitors with the management of civil litigation matters from inception through to resolution. \n
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, court applications, and pleadings. \n
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries. \n
- Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, experts, and other third parties. \n
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines. \n
- Attend client meetings, court hearings, mediations, and conferences where appropriate. \n
- Support dispute resolution processes, including negotiation and settlement discussions. \n
- Assist with case preparation for trial. \n
- Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, firm policies, and professional standards. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:\n
- \n
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification. \n
- Completion of the LPC, SQE, or currently undertaking the relevant qualification route. \n
- Strong interest in litigation and dispute resolution. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. \n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. \n
- Professional and client-focused approach. \n
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications. \n

Desirable:\n
- \n
- Previous experience within a litigation department (paralegal, legal assistant, or placement experience). \n
- Experience dealing with civil litigation matters. \n
- Knowledge of court procedures and case management systems. \n
- Full UK driving licence. \n
