The Opportunity

\n

An established and forward-thinking wealth management business is looking to appoint a Technical Team Leader to oversee its growing paraplanning and technical function.

\n

This is a key leadership role, ideal for an experienced paraplanner ready to step into management, or an existing team leader seeking a new challenge within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

\n

The Role

\n

You will lead a team of paraplanners and technical specialists, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality financial planning support to advisers.

\n

Alongside managing workflow and team performance, you will play a hands-on role in complex case support, technical guidance, and continuous improvement of processes and standards.

\n

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of paraplanners, technical specialists, and junior staff
  • \n
  • Oversee workflow management to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently and within service levels
  • \n
  • Review and sign off complex financial planning reports for accuracy and compliance
  • \n
  • Act as the main escalation point for technical queries from advisers and client service teams
  • \n
  • Support team development through training, mentoring, and performance reviews
  • \n
  • Collaborate with compliance, operations, and senior leadership on process improvements
  • \n
  • Produce and analyse management information to support business decisions
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, procedures, and templates
  • \n
  • Assist with paraplanning duties where required, including report writing and technical analysis
  • \n

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Strong experience in paraplanning within a financial planning or wealth management environment
  • \n
  • Excellent technical knowledge across investments, pensions, tax, and financial planning strategies
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a leadership, mentoring, or supervisory capacity
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • \n
  • A strong understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
  • \n
\n

Desirable (but not essential):

    \n
  • Diploma in Financial Planning (DipFA or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Experience with industry systems such as Intelligent Office, FE Analytics, or Voyant
  • \n
\n
