Coded WelderLocation: On-site Fabrication Shop in Birtley, GatesheadHours: 40 hours per weekRate: Dependent on experience paid via CISEmployment Type: Temporary to PermanentWe are looking for an experienced Coded Welder to join an established fabrication team. The successful candidate will work alongside the Fabrication & Welding Manager, welding stainless steel tanks, stainless steel pipework and mild steel frames.The main requirement is strong experience in FCAW/Flux Core welding , with candidates ideally coded to ASME Section IX for Carbon Steel . Experience with GTAW/TIG welding of 316L stainless steel is also desirable.Key ResponsibilitiesWeld and fabricate components from engineering and technical drawings.Carry out welding to the required standards and specifications.Prepare, grind and finish materials and completed products.Complete quality checks on finished work.Use a range of fabrication and welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, plasma cutters and hand tools.Assist with general fabrication tasks as required.Work efficiently to meet strict deadlines and agreed targets.Maintain high standards of quality and comply with all safety, HSEQ and company procedures.RequirementsDemonstrable experience in a similar welding/fabrication role.Strong FCAW/Flux Core welding experience.Previous ASME IX coding preferred, ideally for carbon steel.Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required.Eligible to work permanently in the UK.Full UK driving licence.This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
