Are you an experienced Project Controls Engineer, Commercial Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer looking for a role where you can directly influence the commercial success of major engineering and construction projects?This is an excellent opportunity to join a global engineering business that delivers high-value combustion, environmental and process technology projects across the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation and industrial sectors.The role will suit someone with strong experience in cost control, forecasting, project controls, commercial reporting, change management, subcontractor invoice review and project performance tracking within a construction, engineering or technical project environment.You will work closely with project teams, site teams and senior stakeholders to protect project margins, improve reporting accuracy and support proactive decision-making across a portfolio of construction projects.Whats in it for you?Competitive salary with flexibility depending on experience2 bonus schemes12% pension27 days holiday plus public holidaysBUPA private healthcareLife assuranceGym / wellbeing benefitsFull-time, permanent positionOpportunity to work on major international engineering projectsStrong career development within project controls and commercial leadershipSupportive, high-performance project delivery environmentChance to make a visible commercial impact across complex construction projectsThe RoleAs Commercial Project Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering robust cost control, accurate forecasting and effective commercial management across construction projects.You will play a key role in tracking project performance against baseline cost, schedule and productivity targets, while ensuring project margins are protected through disciplined reporting, change control and commercial governance.Key responsibilities will include:Developing and maintaining cost-loaded schedules in Microsoft ProjectTracking project performance against baseline schedule, cost and productivity targetsPreparing and managing change order requests with full supporting evidenceWorking daily with site teams to capture timesheets, productivity data, delays and scope changesProducing weekly and monthly Estimate at Completion forecastsMonitoring actual vs budget and committed vs remaining costsReviewing and validating subcontractor invoices for accuracy and contractual complianceSupporting timely and accurate client invoicing in line with contractual milestonesAnalysing historical cost data to improve estimating normsManaging POC, Work Cost and Gross Margin performance across multiple projectsProviding clear commercial reporting to project and senior leadership teamsIdentifying project risks, cost pressures and margin improvement opportunitiesAbout YouYou will need to be commercially focused, highly organised and confident working in a fast-paced construction or engineering project environment.You will ideally have:Experience as a Project Controls Engineer, Commercial Engineer, Cost Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Project ManagerStrong cost control, forecasting and commercial management experienceExperience producing EAC forecasts and commercial project reportsGood understanding of change orders, variations and contract administrationExperience reviewing subcontractor invoices and project cost dataAbility to track actual costs, committed costs, remaining costs and project marginsStrong Microsoft Project skillsStrong Excel and general cost-control system experienceExcellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skillsHigh attention to detail and a structured, analytical approachAbility to work closely with site teams, project managers and senior stakeholdersExperience within oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, industrial construction, process plant, energy, combustion, mechanical projects or major engineering projects would be highly beneficial.QualificationsA degree or qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Controls, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.However, candidates with strong relevant project controls, cost control or commercial project experience will also be considered.LocationThis is an onsite role based in the Oakham / Stamford / Rutland area.The role may suit candidates based in or around Stamford, Oakham, Peterborough, Grantham, Bourne, Corby, Market Deeping, Uppingham, Melton Mowbray, Leicester or surrounding areas.Apply NowIf you are an experienced Project Controls Engineer, Commercial Engineer, Cost Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Project Controls professional looking for a permanent role with excellent benefits, strong career prospects and the chance to work on major engineering projects, please apply today for immediate consideration.TPBN1_UKTJ
