Staff Engineer / Technical Lead (Python C++) Bicester / WFH to £80kAre you a senior technologist who would relish the opportunity to take ownership and shape the tech stack for a growing motorsport technology business that is using F1 data and telemetry across a range of other motor sports and has ambitious growth plans.As a Staff Engineer / Technical Lead you will take ownership of the technology strategy, architecture and software platforms, shaping the future of the engineering function, influencing key business decisions and building a high performing team around you whilst remaining hands-on with technology and product delivery.Collaborating with senior leadership, you will define the technical roadmap, make key architectural decisions and drive the adoption of modern engineering practices across the organisation. You'll have significant autonomy to evolve the technology stack, introduce new tools and approaches and build scalable platforms that support real time operations, telemetry, analytics, reporting and AI enabled workflows used by engineers, operators and decision makers across the business.Location / WFH:You'll join the team near Bicester / Oxford three days a week with flexibility to work from home twice a week.About you:You have achieved a BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical disciplineYou have strong software engineering experience with a broad range of skills: primarily Python and C++, data centric development including Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPyYou also have a good knowledge of APIs, SQL, JavaScript, React, data visualisationYou have a strong understanding of software architecture, clean code, testing and scalable system designYou have technical leadership skills including experience of reviewing code, mentoring developers or leading technical delivery in a small teamYou're comfortable using AI, LLMs or agentic development tools in day-to-day software developmentYou have a good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or similar cloud infrastructureYou're collaborative and can clearly communicate with business stakeholders to explain technical strategyWhat's in it for you:Salary to £80kEquityImpactful role with excellent progression opportunities as the company scalesApply now to find out more about this Staff Engineer / Technical Lead (Python C++) opportunity.TPBN1_UKTJ
