Job Description
Purpose of Role/Job Overview
\nConstruction / Liability Underwriter writing wages and turnover business on a presentation basis
\nUnderwriting a high volume of wages and turnover business, average premium is circa £3,000 with a potential to write up to a premium of £100,000
\nAbility to interpret policy / endorsement wordings and have experience in writing own or modifying existing wordings
\nOnce trained it is expected that the individual will be autonomous, working to achieve personal new business targets
\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction / liability underwriting role
\nDetermine policy terms and calculating premiums in line with both in-house authority limits and insurer binding authority agreements
\nCert CII qualified
\nDemonstrating your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company's underwriting controls.
\nTo positively reinforce and display values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives.
\nExperience in writing high risk and hard to place business is desired but not necessary
\nExisting broker relationships that would support in this role is desired, but again not necessary
\nKey Accountabilities
\nMeeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
\nIdentifies cover and hazards that will impact on the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk.
\nUnderstands the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to review taking these factors into account.
\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.
\nSupport the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.
