Client Manager (Accountant)

\nHours: Full-time (36.5 hours per week)
\nWorking Pattern: Office-based with 2 days working from home available
\nSalary: £53,500 - £58,000

\nThe Role
\nAs a Client Manager, you will manage your own portfolio of clients while leading a small team of accountants, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and ensuring exceptional client service.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Manage the preparation, review and submission of statutory accounts and tax returns for:\n
- \n
- Sole Traders \n
- Partnerships \n
- Limited Companies \n
\n - Maintain responsibility for your own portfolio of clients. \n
- Review and check work completed by junior team members. \n
- Supervise, mentor and develop a small accounting team. \n
- Manage workloads to ensure all statutory deadlines are met. \n
- Provide technical support and constructive feedback to team members. \n
- Assist with planning and monitoring team performance, including KPIs and timesheets. \n
- Build strong relationships with clients through regular communication by phone, email and meetings. \n
- Onboard new clients and support their transition into the business. \n
- Advise clients on tax planning and tax efficiency. \n
- Provide business advisory support, including:\n
- \n
- Cash flow forecasting \n
- Budgeting \n
- Pricing guidance \n
\n - Prepare, review and complete bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS where required. \n
- Conduct year-end client meetings. \n
- Carry out client fee reviews. \n
- Maintain accurate electronic records and client documentation. \n
- Liaise with HMRC and Companies House to resolve client queries. \n
- Deliver bookkeeping or accounting training to clients where appropriate. \n
- Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n
- Attend networking events when required. \n
Requirements
\nEssential
\n- \n
- ACCA, ACA or equivalent fully qualified accountant. \n
- Minimum 5 years' experience working within an accountancy practice. \n
- Strong experience managing a varied portfolio of clients. \n
- Able to independently prepare and review:\n
- \n
- Statutory accounts \n
- Corporation Tax returns \n
- Self Assessment Tax Returns \n
\n - Experience working with:\n
- \n
- Sole Traders \n
- Partnerships \n
- Limited Companies \n
\n - Strong tax knowledge with the ability to advise clients. \n
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff. \n
- Experience using:\n

- Xero \n
- QuickBooks \n
- Dext \n
- FreeAgent \n
\n - Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word. \n
