Job Description

We’re supporting a multi-site manufacturing group with the appointment of an experienced HR Manager. This is a senior, hands-on role with a significant focus on Employee Relations. You’ll work closely with the HR Director and partner directly with the Operations Director, supporting the wider operational leadership team and guiding managers through complex and sensitive ER matters. The environment is safety-critical, so the business needs someone calm, credible and confident in managing difficult situations with control and consistency.The role will include:\n

  • Working closely with Operations and acting as a trusted HR partner to managers
  • \n
  • Guiding managers through complex grievances, disciplinaries and investigations
  • \n
  • Managing settlement agreements and sensitive employee exits
  • \n
  • Advising operational leaders on conduct, capability and absence matters
  • \n
  • Supporting managers through difficult and potentially confrontational situations
  • \n
  • Balancing employee relations, legal risk and operational requirements
  • \n
  • Improving consistency and confidence across line management
  • \n
  • Supporting wider HR projects and business initiatives
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships across HR, Operations and senior leadership
  • \n
We’re looking for someone with:\n
    \n
  • Strong, recent Employee Relations experience
  • \n
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or similar
  • \n
  • Experience working closely with Operations and supporting operational managers
  • \n
  • A track record of guiding managers through complex ER matters
  • \n
  • Experience handling grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations and settlement agreements
  • \n
  • Confidence partnering with and constructively challenging senior operational leaders
  • \n
  • The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially sensible advice
  • \n
  • A calm, controlled approach when dealing with sensitive or high-risk situations
  • \n
  • CIPD Level 5 or above would be preferred.

  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000
