Interim Finance Manager position - 3 Days Per Week We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Professional to provide financial leadership within a forward-thinking charity operating in the education sector. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic reporting with operational delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring financial sustainability, improving financial performance, and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to make a meaningful impact while contributing to the continued success of an organisation with a strong social purpose.Key Duties & Responsibilities\n

  • Provide financial leadership and act as a trusted adviser to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
  • \n
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, financial modelling and performance reporting to support organisational strategy.
  • \n
  • Ensure timely delivery of key management information, reporting, forecasting processes and financial analysis to support effective decision-making.
  • \n
  • Ensure financial governance, statutory compliance, regulatory reporting and the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • \n
  • Maximise the effective use of technology to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • \n
  • Oversee the daily activities of a small Finance Team while providing financial guidance and support across the wider organisation.
  • \n
  • Build effective relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, auditors, HMRC and professional advisers.
  • \n
Education & Skills Required\n
    \n
  • An Accounting Qualification is preferable but not a pre-requisite.
  • \n
  • Previous finance leadership experience, able to support other team members with their duties and responsibilities.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial, operational and strategic finance expertise with experience of financial planning, reporting and governance.
  • \n
  • Experience of working in a finance role within a not-for-profit/charity organisation preferred.
  • \n
  • Experience overseeing financial controls, forecasting, management information and finance processes.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with sound judgement, integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of charity SORP and VAT would be advantageous.
  • \n
