Role: Operational Lead Technician (Permanent Nights)Location: CoventryHours: 12 hour shifts of 18:00 to 06:00, 3 Days on 3 Days off (Including weekends)Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Lead Technician to join a fast-paced automated production line environment.This hands-on leadership role is responsible for maintaining site equipment, driving operational efficiency, minimising downtime of machines, and supporting the day-to-day running of the operation.Working closely with the Shift Supervisor and Operations team, the successful candidate will lead a small team of Machine Minders while ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, quality standards, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.Duties of an Operational Lead Technician:Ensure the efficient and safe operation of production equipmentLead, coach and develop Machine Minders to improve team performanceCarry out preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise equipment downtimeDiagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faultsIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement to increase efficiency, safety and qualityRecord maintenance activities and downtime accurately using maintenance management systemsConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsSupport Shift Supervisors with the planning and running of production operationsMonitor productivity, quality and performance targetsManage labour allocation and support succession planning within the teamWhat we would like from you:Previous experience within an Engineering or Maintenance environmentExperience working within an automated manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial settingStrong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance backgroundExperience leading, motivating and developing teamsProven fault-finding and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and make decisions under pressureStrong understanding of Health & Safety practices and compliance requirementsExperience working towards productivity, quality and operational performance targetsEssential Qualifications:Electrically OR Mechanically Qualified - NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / ONC or equivalentIOSH or equivalentHACCP Level 2Desirable Qualifications:Engineering HNC/HND or DegreeApprenticeship trainedNEBOSH qualificationHACCP Level 3Welding and fabrication experienceBy applying for this position, you confirm that you have read and understood our Data Privacy Statement and give Bolt Technical authorisation to hold your provided data.This vacancy is advertised by Bolt Technical, who are acting as an employment agency/business.
