Cashier (Arabic) - Private Bank
Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banking Cashier to join a high-performing private banking branch team in Central London.
\nThis is a client-facing role within a professional, relationship-led banking environment, providing the opportunity to work closely with experienced branch colleagues, Relationship Managers and wider operational teams. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering an accurate, secure and highly responsive service to the bank’s customers.
\nThe organisation is committed to developing the successful individual beyond the core cashier function, with training and broader exposure to operational processes and multi-product banking activities.
\nPlease note that this is a fully onsite position. Due to the cashiering responsibilities, including the physical handling, control and reconciliation of Sterling and foreign currency, the role cannot be performed on a hybrid or remote basis.
\nKey Responsibilies
\nMaintain and operate cash tills holding both Sterling and foreign currency.
\nProcess cash deposits and withdrawals accurately and in accordance with internal banking procedures.
\nDeliver a professional, efficient and customer-focused counter service.
\nBalance daily cash holdings and complete till reconciliations.
\nEnsure the correct approvals are in place for transactions exceeding applicable thresholds.
\nSupport adverse-media, sanctions and World-Check screening relating to relevant third-party cash transactions.
\nEscalate suspicious activity or financial-crime concerns in line with internal policies.
\nAccept cheque deposits and internal transfer instructions, liaising with Retail Operations to ensure transactions are processed correctly.
\nReview account status and block codes before completing transactions, referring any concerns to the appropriate team or Relationship Manager.
\nAssist customers with the bank’s interactive teller and branch banking services.
\nMaintain the secure custody of debit cards, PINs and other sensitive branch materials.
\nKeep accurate branch registers covering debit cards, PINs and safe-deposit activity.
\nSupport Relationship Managers with debit-card activations and other customer requirements.
\nLiaise with colleagues across the organisation to facilitate banking requests for visiting and telephone-based customers.
\nAssist the Branch Manager with cash-ordering requirements and the maintenance of appropriate branch cash levels.
\nSupport management information, statistical reporting, record keeping and general branch administration.

\nThe successful candidate will ideally offer:
\nPrevious cashiering, teller or counter-services experience within a bank or similarly regulated financial-services environment.
\nPractical experience handling and reconciling physical cash.
\nConfidence processing Sterling and foreign-currency transactions.
\nStrong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
\nA professional, customer-focused approach.
\nThe ability to remain calm and accurate when working under pressure.
\nGood general systems knowledge, including Microsoft Excel.
\nStrong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
\nA reliable, flexible and collaborative approach to working within a branch team.
\nThe ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and English, including spoken, written and reading capability.
