Stress EngineerSouth West, UKVirtual interviewMon–FriCertain Advantage is partnering with a key client to recruit a Stress Engineer. You’ll be responsible for delivering structural and stress analysis packages for a wide range of marine mechanical and hybrid structures. What will you be doing? \n

- Assess structural integrity by accounting for environmental loads, material degradation, and ageing mechanisms. \n
- Develop hand calculations, analytical models, and supporting technical evidence. \n
- Lead end-to-end analysis packages, from initial scoping through to final delivery and presentation. \n
- Provide practical, safety-focused recommendations, including design modifications where required. \n
- Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation, including drawings and analysis records. \n
- Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and communicate findings effectively. \n

- Experience in structural or stress analysis within maritime, defence, industrial, or other regulated sectors. \n
- Strong understanding of mechanical structures, load paths, and material behaviour. \n
- Ability to evaluate ageing or degraded structures and apply sound engineering judgement in the presence of incomplete data. \n
- Proficient in structural hand calculations, analytical methods, and finite element analysis (FEA) tools. \n
- Effective communicator, confident in presenting technical information to clients and stakeholders. \n

- Your experience in Defence, Marine, or safety-critical environments. \n
- Your familiarity with marine degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, fatigue and long-term material behaviour. \n
