The opportunity

- As a Payroll Senior you will have the ability and motivation needed to: \n
- Begin to take ownership of your own portfolio with support from your manager \n
- Support in delivering revenue and profitability targets \n
- Begin to develop enduring client relationships \n
Day to day duties
\n- \n
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients \n
- Deal with all associated payroll processing tasks required for processing to completion of the payroll process \n
- Manage client expectations \n
- Develop relationships with your clients also ensuring effective communication with the wider offices, HMRC and other third-party providers \n
- Working as part of the wider team to review work produced by more junior team members and support the Payroll Manager \n
- Leading by example in regards to attitude and processing of payrolls, so others in the team will follow suit \n
- Being the first point of contact to the team to assist and support the team in responding to queries from clients, HMRC, 3rd party providers etc. \n
- Support in regards to legislation and system queries \n
- Completing regular training for the wider team, which could range from information about legislation to systems \n
- Peer checking of payrolls \n
- Streamlining any current processes within the team/ Updating and maintaining payroll records/files \n
- Any ad-hoc duties or projects that may be necessary \n
- Producing and developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed \n
What are we looking for?
\n- \n
- Over two years’ experience in payroll with experience using STAR (experience in a bureau environment would be highly desirable) \n
- End to end Payroll processing experience including pensions, benefits and statutory payments \n
- Must have the ability to manually calculate a payroll \n
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work \n
- A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision \n
- Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle customer queries by telephone and email \n
- Be able to adapt to a highly changeable environment \n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills \n
- Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines \n
- In depth knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation, processing, and auto enrolment regulations \n
- Effective client management experience and steps towards staff management \n
- Mentorship and coaching experience to support other team members to ensure they perform work duties \n
- Ideally with a CIPP Foundation degree qualification or working towards this qualification \n
