\nPlanet Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Day Shift Operative to join a well-established logistics business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong warehouse background, ideally within the air cargo or freight industry, who is looking to join a busy and supportive operation.
\nWorking as part of the warehouse team, you will be responsible for the safe handling, storage and movement of cargo, ensuring customer requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Safely handle a wide range of cargo, including chilled, frozen and ambient products. \n
- Operate a range of counterbalance forklift trucks from 1.5 to 8 tonnes. \n
- Pick, pack, split and sort shipments accurately and efficiently. \n
- Load and unload company vehicles, from vans through to articulated lorries, as well as visiting transport vehicles. \n
- Build, stack and sort aircraft pallets in line with operational requirements. \n
- Record aircraft pallet movements using the warehouse management system and complete all associated documentation. \n
- Maintain accurate stock records, both electronically and manually, ensuring all warehouse movements are correctly logged. \n
- Work closely with the office and operations teams to ensure workloads are completed efficiently throughout the shift. \n
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures. \n
- Support the wider warehouse operation with any additional duties as required. \n
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 3 years' warehouse experience. \n
- Previous experience working within the air freight or air cargo industry. \n
- A valid B1 Counterbalance Forklift Licence (B2 qualification would be advantageous but is not essential). \n
- Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE). \n
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. \n
- A flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work. \n
- A strong commitment to health and safety and maintaining high operational standards. \n
- \n
- Salary of £27,000 per annum. \n
- 4-on-4-off shift pattern. \n
- Working hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm. \n
