We’re partnering with a well-established and growing multi-channel retailer based in Manchester to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a finance or accounts position who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced commercial business. You’ll become part of a supportive finance function where you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting duties while working closely with experienced finance professionals.

Accounts Assistant – Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Processing high volumes of purchase invoices.
  • \n
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices.
  • \n
  • Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving account queries.
  • \n
  • Preparing supplier payment runs.
  • \n
  • Bank reconciliations and cash posting.
  • \n
  • Assisting with sales ledger and credit control when required.
  • \n
  • Supporting month-end processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate financial records across the finance system.
  • \n
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance queries.
  • \n
  • Supporting continuous improvement within finance processes.
  • \n

Accounts Assistant – Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience working in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • \n
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • \n
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
  • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.AAT qualifications or studies would be advantageous but are not essential.

Accounts Assistant – Renumeration:

\n
    \n
  • Salary of £28,000–£33,000 depending on experience.
  • \n
  • Hybrid working after probation.
