An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly visible Depot Supervisor to support the day-to-day health, safety, and operational compliance of a busy recycling facility. This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining a safe, compliant and professional working environment across the site. The Depot Supervisor will work closely with operational teams, contractors and management, acting as the eyes and ears of the business, identifying risks, driving improvements and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
\nDay-to-day duties of the role:

- Maintain a visible presence across the operational yard and site facilities, promoting a positive health and safety culture. \n
- Monitor compliance with site safety procedures and company standards, ensuring all personnel adhere to PPE requirements. \n
- Conduct routine site inspections and monthly safety audits, addressing any issues promptly and professionally. \n
- Monitor vehicle and pedestrian movements, promoting safe interactions and compliance with site speed restrictions. \n
- Support contractor control processes, site inductions, and ensure adherence to sign-in procedures. \n
- Assist in investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, helping to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. \n
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and corrective actions, supporting the business in achieving and maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Experience in a supervisory, compliance, health and safety, or operational support role within a fast-paced operational environment. \n
- Comfortable working outdoors and walking around an active operational site. \n
- Experience working in conditions with moving vehicles, plant machinery, or logistics operations. \n
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety principles. \n
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely) is desirable; NEBOSH General Certificate is advantageous. \n
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to positively influence and challenge behaviours. \n
