Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a busy shipping and logistics operation. This is a hands-on role, responsible for supervising the day-to-day warehouse activities, coordinating freight movements, overseeing container loading, and ensuring all cargo is handled safely and efficiently.
\nWorking closely with the Warehouse Manager and Operations team, you will lead a warehouse team, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and excellent customer service.
\nKey Responsibilities:

- Supervise the daily warehouse operation, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. \n
- Lead and support warehouse staff, providing guidance and maintaining high performance standards. \n
- Check incoming and outgoing freight against shipping documentation. \n
- Ensure cargo is inspected, measured, weighed, labelled, and prepared for export. \n
- Coordinate LCL freight consolidation and ensure cargo is correctly segregated. \n
- Supervise container loading, ensuring safe loading practices and maximum container utilisation. \n
- Carry out final checks before containers are sealed and dispatched. \n
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and update warehouse management systems. \n
- Investigate freight discrepancies, damages, and operational issues. \n
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and compliance are maintained. \n
- Liaise with customers and drivers during freight deliveries and collections. \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Senior Warehouse Operative, or Team Leader within a logistics, freight forwarding, or warehouse environment. \n
- Experience supervising warehouse teams in a fast-paced operation. \n
- Good understanding of freight handling, LCL consolidation, and container loading. \n
- Knowledge of export freight and shipping procedures is advantageous. \n
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems. \n
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. \n
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work under pressure. \n
- Forklift license preferred \n
