Warehouse Assistant ManagerLocation: St Ives, CambridgeshireHours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:30Paid Hours: 42.5 hours per weekSalary: Up to £35,000 DOEJob Type: PermanentInteraction Recruitment are recruiting for an Warehouse Assistant Manager to join a busy warehouse and logistics operation based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated warehouse professional with supervisory or team leader experience to take on a hands-on management role. You will support the day-to-day running of warehouse operations, helping to ensure efficient workflow, accurate order fulfilment, strong stock control and a safe working environment.The successful candidate will manage a small team of up to 3 staff on a day-to-day basis, while also providing wider cover and support for a warehouse team of up to 16 staff during the Warehouse Manager's absence.As Warehouse Assistant Manager, you will support the Warehouse Manager in coordinating daily activity across goods in, picking, packing, dispatch and wider warehouse operations.You will be responsible for leading staff, allocating workloads, monitoring performance, supporting training and ensuring warehouse processes are completed accurately, safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, support and motivate warehouse staff on a daily basisManage a team of up to 3 staff day to dayProvide cover and support for the wider warehouse team of up to 16 staff during the Warehouse Manager's absenceAllocate workloads and ensure daily tasks are completed efficientlyOversee goods in, picking, packing, dispatch and stock movementEnsure orders are picked, packed and prepared accuratelySupport stock control, inventory checks and stock accuracyIdentify and report stock discrepancies or operational issuesMaintain high standards of quality, accuracy and productivitySupport team training, coaching and performance feedbackPromote and enforce health & safety procedures across the warehouseEnsure equipment faults or maintenance issues are reported promptlyLiaise with management, warehouse teams and other departments to ensure smooth communicationSupport continuous improvements across warehouse processesThe CandidateThe ideal candidate will have previous warehouse supervisory, team leader or assistant manager experience and be confident working in a busy, hands-on warehouse environment.You will be organised, proactive and able to lead by example.
