Job Description

We are seeking a skilled, experienced electrical inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation condition reports (EICRs) in commercial, industrial and residential environments. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of electrical installations, have an ability to identify and report on faults and compliance issues and be proficient in completing paperwork associated with EICRs. The successful candidate will be expected to travel each day to a clients premises to carry out the inspections. Premises will be in multiple different areas. Key responsibilities: • To service our clients portfolio consisting of convenience stores, Funeral offices and associated buildings, vacant shop/office units, residential units above shops and offices. • Travelling to clients premises and carrying out EICRs. • Carrying out thermal imaging of distribution boards (thermal image training will be supplied). • Producing clear and concise certificates and reports on the condition of the installations. • Communicate politely and effectively with clients to keep disruption of their businesses to a minimum and answer any questions they may have. • Maintain up to date knowledge of regulations and industry standards to effectively carry out the works. • Ensure all inspections are carried out in accordance with relevant regulations and guidance notes. • Participate in continuing training and development activities to maintain and further technical skills. • Ability to rectify defects found as part of the condition report if needed. • The working week is mainly made up of 1 test per day Monday to Thursday with Friday being used to write up and upload the weeks reports. • There may be times when the paperwork day needs to change to satisfy the clients needs but this is only on a rare occasion. Qualifications & experience: • 3+ years of experience as qualified electrician. • NVQ level 3. • BS7671 18th edition qualification. • City & Guilds 2391-52 or equivalent qualification for inspection and testing. • In-depth knowledge of BS7671, Guidance note 3 and other relevant standards. • Valid full UK driving licence. • Ability to use tablet/laptop for recording results and producing reports. Salary & Benefits: • Salary – 43-45k (DPE) • Hours of work – 40hrs per week. (OTE) • Holidays – 25 days + bank holidays. • Company vehicle – Company van and fuel card provided. • Pension – Standard workplace pension offered. • Testing equipment, tablet/laptop and all PPE will be provided. • Travel time paid (after 30 mins at start and end of day)
