This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Business Rates professional to lead rate audit and payment operations for a major UK consultancy. The successful candidate will take ownership of client delivery, team leadership, and strategic growth within a high‑performing rating division. Key Responsibilities * Lead rate audit operations across a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in rate payments. * Manage and mentor a team of auditors and analysts, driving performance and professional development. * Oversee client relationships, acting as the senior point of contact for occupier, investor, and landlord clients. * Develop audit strategies to identify savings, mitigate liabilities, and enhance client value. * Collaborate with rating and finance teams to streamline processes and deliver integrated service solutions. * Report and present findings to senior stakeholders, supporting tendering and business development initiatives. Candidate Profile * Proven experience in business rates auditing, rate payment management, or rating consultancy. * Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights. * Excellent leadership and communication skills, comfortable managing teams and client portfolios. * Ideally IRRV qualified or equivalent, with a deep understanding of rating legislation and billing authority processes. * Ambitious, proactive, and motivated by delivering measurable client outcomes.
