Job Description

***Immediate Start***The Production Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating the production schedule to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full. This role requires close coordination with operations, materials, purchasing, engineering, and quality to ensure all resourceslabour, materials, and equipmentare aligned with the production plan.You will monitor demand, analyse capacity constraints, review material availability, and adjust schedules proactively to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency, and will calculate and update the Kanban parameters for the Kanban cells. The role involves maintaining accurate data within the ERP system, reviewing work orders, identifying risks or shortages, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues quickly.This is a hands-on planning role that requires strong communication, analytical capability, and attention to detail. The Production Planner will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, help drive stability within the production process, and support operational teams in achieving output, quality, and service performance targets.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and promote strong Health & Safety standards across all planning and operational activities.Ensure high levels of data accuracy within the ERP system, maintaining reliable production, material, and transactional data.Create, maintain, and communicate daily and weekly production schedules.Review material availability, identify shortages, and work with Purchasing to implement corrective actions.Ensure the successful operation of the Kanban system together with the Materials and Assembly team, calculating and updating the parameters and adjusting the bins as necessary.Coordinate with Operations, Materials, Engineering, and Quality to ensure production plans are executable.Monitor WIP and work order progress, escalating risks as needed.Act as the first point of contact for planning-related ERP system queries.Maintain visual management boards and planning tools.Support communication with internal teams, external partners, and customersQualifications and Experience23 years of relevant production planning or scheduling experience, including establishing and operating a Kanban System. Understanding of production workflows and planning processes. Proficiency in ERP systems. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Problem-solving ability and proactive mindset. Competent IT skills. Methodical working style with attention to detail. Ability to read engineering drawings.
