Working closely with the Building Safety and Compliance Manager, you will provide expert advice on building and fire safety, undertake inspections and audits, oversee safety-related projects, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.You will also play a key role in resident engagement, risk management and continuous improvement, helping to maintain the highest standards of safety across our properties.Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.To be successful in a Building & Fire Safety Officer role, the skills you will need :Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, including business use insuranceAbility to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours working where required.Commitment to continuing professional development and undertaking relevant qualifications.Extensive knowledge of building safety and fire safety legislation, regulations, standards and guidance, including Building Regulations, British Standards, the Building Safety Act, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) OrderStrong understanding of building construction, maintenance and fire/building safety risk management.Proven experience of building safety and fire safety management within the social housing sector.Ability to managing and deliver fire safety and building safety programmes, projects, audits and inspection programmes, including developing and implementing improvement plans.Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring building safety and fire safety policies, procedures and risk management systems.Managing contractors, consultants and enforcing authorities to achieve compliance and performance objectivesExperience of working in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and deadlines.Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word,Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email building effective relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, employees and external agencies.To demonstrate The Sovini Groups values in your day-to-day job role Success, Passion, Authenticity, Courage, Enterprise .Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (or equivalent)Relevant Building Safety, Fire Safety, Building Maintenance, Compliance or Facilities Management qualification (or equivalent).Membership of a relevant building safety, fire safety or health and safety professional body, or working towards membershipManaging fire door inspection programmes and maintaining detailed building safety information.Experience of budget setting, monitoring and financial control.ability to prepare accurate reports, presentations and Board papers.So, if you are looking for a Building & Fire Safety Officer role with:Competitive salary - £43,309.67Hours 36 per week (Monday-Friday).Agile working enjoy an agile working approach.28 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 33 days after 5 years).Festive shutdown (34 days taken from holiday entitlement).Fantastic, matched pension contributions up to 8%.Life Assurance for every colleague, peace of mind ensuring your loved ones are cared for.Career development through bespoke L&D programmes.Cycle 2 Work Scheme.Corporate discount scheme.Award-winning health & wellbeing support.24/7 GP access, EAP, financial wellbeing tools & more.Apply online via our website today!Please note we do not accept approaches from recruitment agencies and only applications made via our website will be accepted.Closing date 5 th August 2026Please note that shortlisting may take place prior to the advert closing, if a high volume of suitable applicants has applied, the advert may close early.
