A life filled with choice, friendships, opportunities and the freedom to enjoy what matters to them.What You'll Be Doing No two days are ever the same—and that's exactly what makes this role so rewarding.You'll spend much of your time alongside people in their everyday lives, helping them build relationships, pursue their interests, get involved in opportunities and achieve goals that reflect their strengths, aspirations and choices.You could be:Supporting someone to attend local football matches, sporting events and community activities.Going for walks, swimming, or trying new hobbies together.Visiting cafés, shops, parks and local events.Encouraging people to build friendships and stay connected with family and their community.Helping people develop confidence, independence and everyday life skills.Supporting someone to achieve personal goals, learn something new or simply enjoy a brilliant day out.Sharing conversations, laughter and the everyday moments that make life meaningful.Alongside these experiences, you'll also provide practical, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs. You don't need previous experience in social care—we'll provide all the training you need. What matters most is your values, enthusiasm and willingness to make a difference.Essential requirements:Hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence and held your licence for 2 years or more.Be willing and able to drive the vehicles of the people we support and, where appropriate, MacIntyre service vehicles.Be willing and physically able to support people with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs where required, and being on your feet, out and about in the community.Feel comfortable working across a range of community settings and travelling between locations.Be flexible in your approach to working hours, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, as shifts are planned around the lifestyles and choices of the people we support.About us MacIntyre is a national charity supporting more than 1,400 children, young people and adults who have a learning disability or are autistic.For 60 years, we've worked alongside people to build lives filled with opportunity, connection and belonging.
