Contract I&E TechnicianWorking Location: SurreyContract Type: ContractOutside IR35OverviewIf you are an experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Technician looking for a contract role with solid technical scope in a hazardous area environment, this opportunity offers a busy maintenance programme and hands-on technical work across instrumentation, electrical, and CompEx activities on an established energy site operation.Why This Role Stands OutOutside IR35 contractHands-on technical scope across I and E and CompEx activitiesPlanned and corrective maintenance across a live operational siteInvolvement in annual shutdown activitiesStable, well-structured maintenance programmeKey ResponsibilitiesComplete planned and corrective instrumentation and electrical work orders, prioritising by criticalityRecord all activities accurately within the site CMMSCarry out CompEx inspections and complete associated first line repairsComplete instrumentation and electrical activities during the annual site shutdownCalibrate instrumentation including As Found and As Left records across a range of measurement technologiesPerform functional testing of ESD, control, level, and pressure systems including closure time recordingConduct fire and gas system testing across a range of detection technologiesMaintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free working environmentRequirements4 to 5 years maintenance experience on instrumentation and electrical equipmentInstrumentation qualification such as apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, with solid electrical knowledgeIn-date CompEx 01 to 04 certification and working knowledge of IEC 60079Experience in instrumentation calibration and functional testing of safety systemsGood working knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations and earthing systemsPrevious experience working in hazardous areas within industrial or energy environmentsFamiliarity with CMMS systems and comfortable recording work activities digitallyStrong planning, problem-solving, and communication skillsTPBN1_UKTJ
