Facilities Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: YorkRate: £13.45 per hourHours: 18 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00am – 5:00pm)Contract: Temporary, 6 weeksStart Date: ASAP

We are looking for a proactive and organised Facilities Assistant to join a busy Facilities Management team on a temporary basis. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you will help ensure the office environment is safe, clean, well-maintained and welcoming for colleagues and visitors.

\n

The Role

\n

Key responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Acting as the first point of contact for colleagues, visitors and contractors.
  • \n
  • Carrying out reception and switchboard duties.
  • \n
  • Ensuring meeting rooms are prepared, stocked and ready for use.
  • \n
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post and arranging couriers.
  • \n
  • Conducting regular site checks to maintain high standards across the office.
  • \n
  • Reporting and coordinating maintenance issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Issuing security passes and keys in line with site procedures.
  • \n
  • Supporting health and safety activities, including routine safety checks and incident reporting.
  • \n
  • Assisting with purchase orders and monitoring contractor performance.
  • \n
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to requests.
  • \n

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a facilities, administration or customer service environment.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • \n
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • \n
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • \n

Desirable

Experience or willingness to undertake training in areas such as:

  • First Aid

  • Fire Warden duties

  • Health & Safety
