Interim Financial Controller - Immediate Start - London - Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well-established, privately owned SME during a significant period of change.

This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys bringing structure and stability where it's needed most. You'll work closely with senior leadership, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting the business through an important transitional period.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the month-end close process.
\n
• Producing timely and accurate management accounts.
\n
• Managing payroll and overseeing UK and overseas VAT.
\n
• Supporting cash flow, financial reporting and day-to-day financial control.
\n
• Working closely with operational stakeholders to improve reporting and processes.
\n
• Using Excel extensively to analyse data and produce meaningful management information.
\n

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous Interim Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant experience.
\n
• Is comfortable joining businesses in transition and can quickly establish credibility.
\n
• Is resilient, pragmatic and able to work with imperfect information while driving improvements.
\n
• Has excellent Excel skills and enjoys getting into the detail when required.
\n
• Can start at short notice.
\n

The role:

\n
• London based with c.3 days per week on site.
\n
• Immediate start.
\n
• £600–£750 per day, depending on experience.
\n
• Initial short term contract, with potential for longer term extension depending on business requirements.
