Childcare Advocate Lawyer
Job Description
LAW Absolute are seeking an experienced Childcare Advocate (Solicitor or Barrister) to join a Local Authority legal team on a locum basis while permanent recruitment is underway. This is a temporary role for three months initially.
\nThis role is ideally suited to a highly capable advocate who enjoys court work and can confidently represent the authority in a range of public law childcare proceedings.
\nThe successful candidate will be required to undertake the following:

- Conduct advocacy at public law childcare hearings. \n
- Represent the Local Authority at all stages of care proceedings. \n
- Manage hearing preparation and attendance. \n
- Work closely with the childcare legal team to ensure effective case progression. \n
- No caseload responsibility – the primary focus of the role is advocacy. \n
- Where hearings are not scheduled, providing support with: \n
- Drafting legal advice \n
- Legal research \n
- Training and development initiatives \n
- Other childcare legal matters as required by the team \n
Essential Requirements:
\n- \n
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant Childcare/Public Law experience. \n
- Strong advocacy skills with the ability to represent a Local Authority effectively in court. \n
- Previous Local Government childcare experience is highly desirable. \n
- Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an established legal team. \n
- Available to start at short notice. \n
The role is offering a role of between £60-65 per hour umbrella.
