Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with a construction firm based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and growing business where you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function.

Working within a collaborative finance team, you will take ownership of the accounts payable process while supporting a range of financial administration and reporting activities. This position would suit a proactive and organised individual who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time
\n
• Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate records
\n
• Prepare and process payment runs
\n
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and assist with cashflow monitoring
\n
• Process employee expenses and carry out relevant VAT checks
\n
• Monitor and maintain the finance inbox, processing incoming invoices and queries
\n
• Act as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding purchase ledger matters
\n
• Investigate and resolve invoice and supplier account queries
\n
• Support month-end activities, including intercompany recharges and financial reporting
\n
• Reconcile company credit cards and maintain supporting documentation
\n
• Analyse timesheet data and assist with labour cost reporting
\n

To succeed in this role, you will need:

\n
• Previous experience in a transactional accounts role with a strong knowledge of accounts payable
\n
• Proficiency in accounting software
\n
• Strong organisational and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
\n
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
\n
