We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cardiac Anesthesiologist Physician to become part of our expanding cardiac anesthesia program. This role involves delivering high-acuity care along the picturesque lakeshore of Michigan within a collaborative, physician-centered setting. Opportunity Details
  • Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (on-call hours prorated)
  • Primary Role: Directly administer cardiac anesthesia (no medical direction model); during non-cardiac weeks, practice general anesthesia within the same facility.
  • Schedule: A mix of in-house clinical duties and home cardiac call; flexible full-time and part-time schedules are available, emphasizing a work-life balance. Call and holiday duties are shared among the team to ensure individual flexibility in hours and compensation.

  • Focus: Single-site at our facility, a Level 2 trauma center.

Team Information
  • Work within a care team model, offering medical direction to CRNAs while also having the chance to personally perform cases.
  • Engage with a diverse mix of general and complex cases, including orthopedic (both elective and trauma), gynecology, ENT, complex vascular, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology (including EP and structural heart), obstetrics, and a full range of cardiothoracic cases.
  • Utilize peripheral nerve blocks and advanced regional techniques to achieve enhanced recovery goals in collaboration with our surgical teams.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits
  • In-house Clinical Shifts: $325/hour; 1.0 FTE = 2,000 hours annually; competitive shift-based compensation model that supports both cardiac and general anesthesia practices.
  • Call Compensation: Weekday call at $70/hour; Friday night call at $80/hour; Weekend/holiday call at $80/hour; Call-back/additional time at $650 per 2-hour increment.
  • Value-Based Incentives: Up to $75,000 annually based on quality, outcomes, and system performance.
  • High Earning Potential: Additional shifts available at $365/hour, providing opportunities to boost earnings through extra coverage.
  • Starting Bonus: Up to $25,000.

Requirements
  • Physicians: Must be board certified in a relevant clinical area or board eligible, with a commitment to achieve board certification within five years of the start date (unless otherwise required by applicable medical staff bylaws).
  • Possession of an active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain one).
  • DEA license required.
  • ACLS/BLS certification must be maintained.
