Exciting Opportunity for an Orthopedic Surgeon

Our organization in Mason City, Iowa, is thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to become a part of our Orthopedic department. We are a physician-owned, multi-specialty group dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Join a collaborative team consisting of 4 surgeons, 5 Physician Assistants, and a specialized occupational therapist focused on hand therapy.
  • Participate in a call schedule of 36 days per year, with primary call managed by PAs.
  • We welcome candidates with expertise in General Orthopedics as well as any subspecialty.
  • Your workweek will include both clinic and surgical days.
  • Surgeries will be performed at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, a 342-bed regional teaching hospital, and at our Ambulatory Surgery Center located on the same campus.
  • Engage in outreach opportunities at one of our 7 critical access hospitals within our 14-county network.
  • Our primary service area serves approximately 260,000 residents.
  • We are a Level III Trauma Center equipped with helicopter services.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary of $661,826 plus production incentives, with a 2-year income guarantee.
  • A generous bonus package totaling $200,000.

About MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center

Our regional health system spans 14 counties and includes MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, 7 critical access hospitals, and 42 clinics across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. We are a teaching hospital offering residency programs in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, as well as fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible; candidates must achieve board certification within 3 years of eligibility.
  • We encourage applications from H1B and J1 visa candidates.
  • All offers are contingent upon successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screenings.
  • A degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school is required.
  • Completion of a relevant residency program demonstrating competency as a physician.
  • Ability to obtain medical staff privileges at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a physician license in the State of Iowa, along with an Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
