Our Mission

We believe in providing care to everyone in need. This principle, articulated by a member of our outreach team, reflects the philosophy of our founding members who dedicated themselves to serving the vulnerable. This commitment drives our mission and daily operations.

Our history dates back to the post-Civil War era when four Sisters of Mercy established Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. As the hospital evolved, volunteer healthcare professionals took to the streets to provide care to those in need, laying the groundwork for what is now our organization.

In 2012, Saint Joseph's Hospital transitioned to Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, while we continued our mission under the Saint Joseph's Health System. This shift allowed us to focus our resources on serving the underserved.

Over the past decade, we have expanded significantly, responding to the needs of our patients and communities. Notably, in 2017, we opened a new clinic in Chamblee to serve the growing Hispanic population, and in 2022, we renovated and expanded our Decatur Street clinic.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

As one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the country, we are dedicated to integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of our work. Our team members bring a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and talents, which enrich our ability to provide accessible and equitable care. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, and all qualified candidates will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
