Join Our Team as a Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider

We are currently looking for a dedicated Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider to enhance our cardiothoracic surgery services in Boise, Idaho. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional inpatient care alongside our skilled cardiothoracic surgeons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in all cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
  • Manage the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and the step-down unit.
  • Collaborate with a team comprising three surgeons, eight Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), four specialized anesthesiologists, and four perfusionists.
  • Contribute to a dedicated floor featuring a 10-bed CVICU, three Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVORs), and a 6-bed step-down unit.
  • Participate in over 350 open-heart surgeries, 175 thoracic surgeries (including 80 robotic lobectomies), 160 TAVRs, and 75 MitraClip procedures annually.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research to enhance the cardiothoracic field.
Working Schedule

The initial surgical orientation may consist of five 8-hour shifts for approximately three months, transitioning to four 10-hour shifts per week, typically from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Possession of a current, unrestricted Physician Assistant medical license in Idaho.
  • Valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • Experience in vein harvesting is essential.
  • A robust medical background with a commitment to developing a practice that supports a growing multispecialty medical group.
  • Prior experience in managing cardiac disease as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
