Exciting Opportunity for a General Surgeon

Our organization is thrilled to announce a full-time position for a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon to become part of our community-focused practice located in Mishawaka, Indiana, just a short drive from the University of Notre Dame.

This role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care, which includes responsibilities in the clinic, operating room, inpatient consultations, and shared on-call duties. The work schedule is designed to promote a healthy work-life balance while addressing the demands of a busy general surgery service line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a full range of general surgical services in line with your training and privileges.
  • Oversee inpatient consultations, admissions, and perioperative care; ensure safe and efficient discharges and follow-ups.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide outstanding patient care.
  • Maintain an active outpatient clinic with prompt access for both new and returning patients.
  • Participate in shared on-call duties for general surgery, including weekday and weekend rotations.
  • Utilize advanced DaVinci robotic technology and state-of-the-art surgical facilities.
  • Follow evidence-based guidelines, surgical pathways, and documentation standards to enhance quality metrics and value-based care.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and morbidity and mortality committees.
  • Use the hospital's electronic medical record system (Epic) for documentation, order entry, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and credentialing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery.
  • A strong commitment to community-based medicine and patient-centered care.
  • Eligibility for Indiana medical licensure and DEA registration.
