Exciting Opportunity for a General Surgeon
Our organization is thrilled to announce a full-time position for a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon to become part of our community-focused practice located in Mishawaka, Indiana, just a short drive from the University of Notre Dame.
This role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care, which includes responsibilities in the clinic, operating room, inpatient consultations, and shared on-call duties. The work schedule is designed to promote a healthy work-life balance while addressing the demands of a busy general surgery service line.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver a full range of general surgical services in line with your training and privileges.
- Oversee inpatient consultations, admissions, and perioperative care; ensure safe and efficient discharges and follow-ups.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide outstanding patient care.
- Maintain an active outpatient clinic with prompt access for both new and returning patients.
- Participate in shared on-call duties for general surgery, including weekday and weekend rotations.
- Utilize advanced DaVinci robotic technology and state-of-the-art surgical facilities.
- Follow evidence-based guidelines, surgical pathways, and documentation standards to enhance quality metrics and value-based care.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and morbidity and mortality committees.
- Use the hospital's electronic medical record system (Epic) for documentation, order entry, and communication.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and credentialing requirements.
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery.
- A strong commitment to community-based medicine and patient-centered care.
- Eligibility for Indiana medical licensure and DEA registration.
