Job Description
Our organization is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers. We are currently in search of a full-time Interventional Cardiologist to join our 13-member cardiology team based in Boise. This team includes 5 Interventional Cardiologists, 5 Invasive Cardiologists, and 3 Electrophysiologists, supported by a strong group of inpatient and outpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
About the Heart InstituteThe Heart Institute features the only Women’s Cardiology Program in the region, along with specialized services such as Cardio-Oncology. Our facilities include:
- 3 catheterization labs with peripheral capabilities
- A 22-bed prep and recovery unit for cath/EP procedures
- Cardiac nuclear medicine
- Vascular ultrasound, echocardiography, and EKG diagnostics
Common procedures performed include:
- Diagnostic Adult Cardiac Catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions
- Balloon Angioplasty
- Coronary and Vascular Stent Placements
- Permanent Pacemakers and ICDs
- Multiple ablations
- Coronary Thrombectomy
- Transesophageal Echocardiography
- Peripheral Vascular Angiography and Interventions
- Intravascular and Intracardiac Ultrasound
- Cardioversion and Tilt Table Studies
Our Boise practice is part of a larger, integrated cardiology team of 18 members, extending from Boise to Baker City, Oregon. We are proud to be the only program in the area accredited for Chest Pain by the American College of Cardiology and hold the Idaho Time Sensitive Emergency designation for STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma.
Schedule and CallThis position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with flexibility. The role is based at the Boise Hospital (main campus) with outreach to clinics 1-2 times per month and access to our telemedicine network. Call responsibilities are shared equally among five providers.

We also have a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations. The cardiac cath lab is staffed by board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technicians, and cardiovascular technologists.
Qualifications- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship
- Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology, or the ability to obtain these certifications within three years of employment
- Unrestricted medical license in Idaho and Oregon
- Ability to secure privileges at SAMC-Nampa, SARMC-Boise, and other affiliated hospitals as necessary
- Valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
- Hospital medical staff privileges for procedures including stents, IVUS, catheterizations, ECGs, Holter monitoring, echocardiogram interpretation, stress testing, and pacemaker management
- Nuclear cardiology skills are a plus but not mandatory; echo board certification is also not required
- Experience in interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is available
