Job Opportunity: Interventional Cardiologist - Medical Director

We are a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group with over 650 providers, currently in search of a skilled Interventional Cardiologist to take on the role of Medical Director for our 7-member cardiology practice located in Nampa. This team consists of 4 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 General Non-Invasive Cardiologists, and several Nurse Practitioners.

About the Heart Center

The Heart Center in Nampa is equipped with:

  • Two catheterization labs with peripheral vascular capabilities
  • A catheter preparation and recovery unit
  • A 10-bed Cardiac Medical Unit
  • Nuclear medicine, echocardiography, and EKG diagnostics
  • A dedicated Cardiac Recovery Unit

We provide quick access to comprehensive emergency and heart care services, featuring the only 24/7 interventional catheterization lab in Canyon County. Our cardiology program is recognized as the fastest-growing in the region.

Team Structure and Schedule

The Nampa practice is part of a larger, integrated cardiology team comprising 20 members across the health system. This full-time position follows a traditional workweek from Monday to Friday, including consults and rounding. The on-call schedule is shared equitably among Interventional Cardiologists at a ratio of 1:4, with opportunities for additional paid call.

  • Interventional Radiology
  • Cardiac MRI
  • Three Endoscopy suites
  • Radiology services available Monday through Friday (with on-call support during weekends and holidays)

The Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, located just 15 miles away, offers Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Trauma, and Neurosurgery services. Our network encompasses 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations, and the cardiac cath lab is staffed by board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technicians, and cardiovascular technologists.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in complex coronary interventions, including atherectomy and Impella procedures
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology, or the ability to obtain these certifications within three years of employment
  • Eligibility for Idaho and Oregon medical licensure, along with privileges at SAMC-Nampa, SARMC-Boise, and other affiliated hospitals as necessary
  • A valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • Hospital medical staff privileges for procedures including stents, IVUS, interventional catheterizations, electrocardiograms, Holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress testing, and pacemaker procedures

Optional skills in nuclear cardiology are appreciated but not mandatory. Experience in the interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is also available.
