This unit features 30 beds, catering to a diverse range of patients, including those requiring step-down, medical-surgical, and swing care. Our patient population primarily consists of individuals with long-term and chronic illnesses, and building strong relationships with both patients and their families is a fundamental aspect of our work. Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse will provide leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the nurse will deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families, as well as implement medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications Required:- Preferred Experience: At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Required Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with the expectation of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as necessary. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
- Required License/Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may apply; licensees should verify with the NCBON.
- Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
