Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Gastroenterologist to enhance our practice located in Athens, Texas.

Situated near the picturesque Lake Athens, a sprawling 1,799-acre reservoir, our facility offers a beautiful community rich in outdoor recreational activities for you to enjoy during your downtime from medical practice.

We pride ourselves on our comprehensive facilities and hospital programs that facilitate collaborative, multidisciplinary care. Our team has access to advanced technologies, including EPIC/EMR systems and the DaVinci robotic surgical system.

Currently, we are experiencing significant growth and expansion, highlighted by the upcoming construction of a new 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building set to open in 2027.

About Your Role

• Collaborate with two advanced providers and a dedicated support team.
• Utilize smart technology to enhance patient care without extending your workday.
• Employ Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to streamline documentation, reduce administrative tasks, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding, leading to a better work-life balance and increased revenue.
• This is a full-time employed position.
• Experience with EUS or ERCP is preferred.
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (Clinic and Procedure days).
• Expected patient load: 18 to 22+ patients per day in the clinic.
• Opportunity to mentor residents.

About Our Organization

Our healthcare system encompasses nine hospitals, over 90 physician clinics, and more than 500 employed providers. We also operate 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, six urgent care clinics, and regional home health services across 41 counties. Our EMS fleet includes over 60 ambulances and four helicopters, along with a comprehensive trauma care network featuring a Level 1 trauma center. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in the UT System, is dedicated to training future healthcare professionals to meet the unique needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly in East Texas.
