Exciting Opportunity for a General Surgeon

Our organization is thrilled to announce a full-time position for a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon to join a dynamic and expanding multispecialty group practice in Ontario, Oregon.

As part of a physician-led team comprising over 600 providers, you will engage in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This community practice offers a comprehensive range of general surgery services, including both endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, all while enjoying a relaxed rural lifestyle. The practice is conveniently situated in a clinic adjacent to the hospital.

About the Facility

Our facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with:

  • 50 beds
  • 4 operating suites
  • Endoscopy services
  • State-of-the-art laparoscopic equipment
  • Advanced imaging capabilities

Support and Resources

We provide robust support, including:

  • 24/7 CRNA support for anesthesia
  • A regional network of surgical subspecialties, such as surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, upper GI surgery, orthopedics, ENT, and gynecology
  • Local primary care and specialty clinics, along with medical oncology
  • Hospital-based imaging services, including a 24/7 radiology department
  • In-house coverage for general radiology and CT
  • After-hours call coverage for Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine (NM), MRI, Breast Care Center, and X-ray (DR image capture)
  • Emergency department support
Work Schedule

The work schedule consists of a traditional week from Monday to Friday, requiring a minimum of 32 hours of patient contact time, which encompasses clinic visits, procedures, and consultations. The call requirement averages ten days per month, including at least one weekend at our facility. Additional incentives for extra call are available.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA general surgery residency program
  • Board certification through the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS), or the ability to obtain such certification within seven years of employment
  • Oregon and Idaho medical licensure, along with privileges at our facility and other affiliated hospitals as necessary
  • Valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • A keen interest in a diverse general surgery and endoscopy practice
