This role is situated at a regional medical center within Fort Bragg, NC. We are utilizing Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to attract and appoint qualified individuals for roles within the competitive service. This announcement aims to create a pool of readily available candidates for positions that are challenging to fill as they arise. Our facility, named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, is a fully accredited 110-bed medical center and Graduate Medical Education (GME) facility. We serve Fort Bragg, the largest U.S. Army installation globally and home to Airborne and Special Operations. Our organization operates several excellent Primary Care practice sites in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg is conveniently positioned just two hours from the coast and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95. This central North Carolina area enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. Numerous amenities are available, including premier golf courses, esteemed universities, a skeet range, riding stables, an ice skating rink, modern fitness centers, daycare services, high-quality dining options, full-service banking, convenience shops, barbershops, and florists.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

• Provide specialized knowledge in advanced general diagnostic radiology procedures, including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA), Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
• Gather patient history for general radiographic diagnoses, review relevant laboratory test results, and evaluate the severity of illnesses.
• Supervise radiographic examinations, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed, correlating symptoms with the patient's pain and illness.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Eligibility: Open to US Citizens

To qualify, candidates must fulfill the educational and/or experience criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic)

Degree:

Applicants must hold a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For degrees obtained from foreign medical schools, education and medical knowledge must be equivalent to accredited U.S. institutions, demonstrated by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

Licensure:

Candidates must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Graduate Training:

After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

Residency Training for GP-14 Position

Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of Radiology-Diagnostic, along with equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the residency training required for this specialty.

Compensation Details

If selected for a Physician role, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process will commence after the acceptance of the initial offer, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish base pay and market pay for your starting salary, which will be communicated once approved.

Compensation for physician roles is based on a tiered scale, influenced by the specialty, grade, and location of the position. This announcement may be utilized to fill roles across the following tier:
