Compensation

Hourly Rate: $37.45 - $44.95, depending on experience.

Work Schedule

Part-Time: Days may vary, typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse will employ the nursing process to plan and deliver direct care to assigned residents. Responsibilities include overseeing shift routines within the nursing unit and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Completion of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
  • Experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions using initiative and discretion.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented with knowledge of effective service techniques.
  • Clinical competence to conduct physical and cognitive assessments of residents.
  • Proficient in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation.
  • A collaborative team player.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction
  • Model positive communication with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, and families.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift changes.
  • Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and psychosocial well-being.
  • Assign staff appropriately to meet the needs of residents.
  • Ensure staff fulfill their responsibilities during shifts.
  • Participate in scheduled nurses' meetings and take necessary disciplinary actions when required.
  • Report any occupational exposures according to facility policies.
Resident Care
  • Maintain proficiency in all required skills.
  • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document residents' responses to medications and report any concerns.
  • Follow all protocols for monitoring vital signs and administering treatments.
  • Communicate changes in residents' conditions to physicians and families.
  • Adhere to emergency protocols as necessary.
Documentation and Assessment
  • Contribute to the development and updating of residents' care plans.
  • Evaluate the performance of staff under your supervision.
  • Complete routine charting duties in accordance with established policies.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders and communicate necessary information to other departments.
  • Document all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of residents as assigned.
Personnel Management
  • Attend scheduled nurses' meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in employee evaluations and staffing recommendations.
  • Foster positive relationships with inter-departmental personnel.
  • Complete required in-services and online training modules.
Committee Participation
  • Engage in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.

Experience and Certifications
  • Preferred: Experience in long-term care.
  • Required: Registered Nurse license.
