Inventory Analyst

Position: Inventory Analyst 2
Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Duration: 18-month contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

This role supports Caterpillar's Global Equipment Processing Center by ensuring inventory accuracy through reconciliation, auditing, and root cause analysis. You'll work closely with internal teams and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inventory reconciliations, audits, and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipment errors, supplier issues, and receipt variances.
• Conduct SAP research to analyze inventory movement history and determine corrective actions.
• Perform physical inventory counts and identify root causes of inventory discrepancies.
• Document corrective actions and communicate inventory adjustments to Supply Chain teams.
• Partner with onsite 3PL providers to resolve inventory and receiving issues.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support continuous inventory improvement initiatives.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and SAP to analyze inventory data and prepare documentation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree accepted with relevant experience).
• 2–4 years of experience in inventory management, inventory control, record accuracy, or related supply chain roles.
• Experience performing inventory reconciliation, audits, and discrepancy investigations.
• Experience working with SAP or similar inventory management systems is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and build strong working relationships.
