Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to become a part of our expanding healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, possessing a strong background in diagnosing and treating disorders related to the gastrointestinal (GI) system, which includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.
The Gastroenterologist will focus on providing full-time outpatient care, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, and collaborating with fellow medical professionals to ensure outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and manage a variety of gastrointestinal disorders.
- Perform procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), sigmoidoscopies, polypectomies, and capsule endoscopy.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab results, imaging studies, and findings from endoscopic procedures.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide consultation services to other healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about digestive health, preventive measures, and available treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and current medical records in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Engage in staff meetings and continuing education, with a schedule of 3 days in clinic and 2 days dedicated to procedures.
- Participate in a reasonable shared call system with mid-level support available 7 days a week.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine.
- Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology.
- For General GI: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, with an unrestricted Florida State Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- For Advanced GI: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology with advanced training in EUS & ERCP, along with an unrestricted Florida State Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted medical license in Florida.
- DEA license for medication prescribing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in endoscopic techniques and the management of complex GI conditions.
- Dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
